Stella is continuing to mature into a fine young lady. She now has all of her health clearances with OFA GOOD Hips and Normal Elbows. She is also a participant in the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study. Currently, she is in training for obedience, tracking, hunt tests, agility, and therapy work and is an absolute joy around the house. We could not be more pleased by how this little girl has turned out!

2013 Update: What a first year! This sweet, sweet girl has completely won over our hearts. She will literally hug you by wrapping her paw around your leg...and will jump up and wrap her paws around your waist if you let her! But, as loving as she is, she has excellent drive. She proved herself as a competitor in the obedience world at her very first show, just a few days before her first birthday. She came away with a tie for 2nd place (but got 3rd) and a 1st place for legs 1 and 2 of her CD title. She has wonderful retrieve instinct and marking ability in the field and incredible body awareness, so we think she is going to be just as fun to train for hunt tests and agility as she is for obedience. I could not have asked for a better combination of her parents' traits. Except, maybe the "Houdini" gene she seems to have inherited from her father...that one we could have lived without :).
Miss Pink, AKA "Stella" will remain here at Maywood Kennels. She has already figured out how to work the humans here, thanks to help from Momma Bailey, so why start over somewhere new?
She is hoping to have a career as a movie star, and possibly direct her own canine featured films. We are waiting a few more weeks until we give her a reality check. Or, we may let her believe that her obedience and field career is on candid camera. :)
