"SKY" Maywood's First Star in the Sky CD GN TKA BN RAE CCA CGC SERVICE DOG
Sky is a boy from our first litter, full sibling to our better known girl, Stella. He is primarily a medical alert and general assistance service dog, but his owner has recently decided to try her hand at obedience competition as well! This spring, he also attended a CCA event and received some very complimentary scores! He has a fabulous golden temperament, is easy to live with in the house, but loves to train and work. He showed very nicely at the 2018 Rally National Championship in the RAE class, but his handler messed up a few signs... Oops! We could not pass up the opportunity to include Sky in our breeding program. He may not be a Champion, but he has an even more important job to do and represents everything we hoped to achieve in our program. Sky stands 23" tall and has a medium to dark straight, correct coat. He is currently working toward his Open obedience title and has recently started field training, impressing us all with his natural working ability. Sky has all clearances, which can be viewed here.
"Shine" Tashel Tairis New Light in My Life BN RN TKN CCA CGC
Shine is our special co-owned girl that we drove all the way to Maine over Christmas to pick up after we fell in love with the breeding. She did not disappoint. Shine is a bit of a diva and knows what she wants and when she wants it. She is very independent, but also loves to cuddle. Though she has been slower to mature (we're fine with that!), she is proving to be an absolute joy to train and show. She has a true golden personality with an incredible sense of humor that keeps us all laughing. Shine stands 22" tall with a light to medium straight, correct coat. When she completed her CCA title last year, she blew us away with her consistently high scores.
She is working toward higher level obedience and rally titles and has just started to train for fieldwork. Shine has all clearances, which can be viewed here.
Both Sky and Shine have all clearances, genetic testing, and are being bred with the results of the UC Davis Genetic Diversity Project in mind (both sire and dam have been tested and this breeding WILL improve on genetic diversity). Both sides of the pedigree are packed with versatile, high achieving dogs and we anticipate that this breeding will produce puppies who not only easily meet the breed standard, but who will boast gorgeous structure and temperament, and excel in any performance venue you'd like to try.
